Business Operations Officer
Salary: £27,000 – £30,000
Location: Bristol (hybrid working model)

About the Role

As a Business Operations Officer, you will be at the heart of our Business Operations Office, a central function within Sanderson Government and Defence (SG&D). Operating between our internal business areas and our portfolio of external clients, the operations team ensure the smooth running of the business by owning non-recruitment delivery work. Your focus will be to receive, record and manage information provided by both clients and business areas. You will assist in the coordination of operations activities, manage documentation and ensure that data accuracy is achieved. Your role will be vital in maintaining organisation and facilitating effective communication among stakeholders.
Sanderson Government & Defence was established over 20 years ago as a bespoke solution to a unique talent problem: sourcing and placing high-calibre professional talent to work within the UK Government and Defence sector. We provide talent solutions for the UK government and their critical supply chains, including Ministry of Defence (MOD) and areas of National Security.
Due to the nature of the projects we work on the candidate will need to hold a valid SC clearance or be able to obtain an SC clearance.  

Role Responsibilities

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to manage the onboarding and offboarding process and day to day queries 
  • Maintain governance structures throughout delivery phase of projects and prepare close out reporting for projects.  
  • Track and report on project progress, escalating to senior management as required. 
  • Assist with quoting, time recording, forecasting and billing, having knowledge of our timesheet system 
  • Work with the team/clients to manage changes within the projects, ensuring that change control processes are followed. 
  • Liaise with colleagues in Shared Service Teams (Finance, Contracts etc) to relay pertinent information and promptly resolve queries. 
  • Identify opportunities for standardisation and efficiencies. 
  • Recruitment coordinating activities – Collating and distributing new vacancy information, CV submissions, scheduling interviews, coordinating offers and weekly calls – internal and client facing
  • Ownership of the managed contractor population providing a gold standard service
  • Data governance – facilitating the structure and process, recording accurate information on databases ensuring real-time data is available and looking at trend analysis
  • Operational task support including new client account set up, reporting and business administration

  • Previous recruitment or project support experience is desirable.
